Description
The new Visio Adjustable Putting Gate is a simple and easy-to-use device designed to provide immediate feedback on your ability to start your putts on the correct line.
This innovative gate features three adjustable width settings, easily changed using the rotatable finger wheel located in the centre of the gate. The top of the gate has three silver lines, each corresponding to a different width option: three lines indicate a 60mm width, two lines represent 55mm, and one line signifies 50mm. These widths, when placed at specific distances from the ball along your target line, create varying angles of error that you must meet to successfully putt the ball through the gate.
Error Margins by Gate Width and Distance:
50mm:
- 8 inches: Requires less than 1 degree of error
- 12 inches: Requires less than 0.75 degrees of error
- 17 inches: Requires less than 0.5 degrees of error
55mm:
- 14 inches: Requires less than 1 degree of error
- 19 inches: Requires less than 0.75 degrees of error
- 27 inches: Requires less than 0.5 degrees of error
60mm:
- 20 inches: Requires less than 1 degree of error
- 26 inches: Requires less than 0.75 degrees of error
- 39 inches: Requires less than 0.5 degrees of error
Practicing with the gate on your chosen line is an excellent way to challenge and refine your ability to start the ball precisely on target. For example, at 10 feet, a 1-degree error will line the ball up with the edge of the hole, while at 20 feet, a 0.5-degree error will do the same. Therefore, to consistently make a straight 10-foot putt, you must achieve an accuracy of less than 1 degree of error in your starting line, and for a 20-foot putt, less than 0.5 degrees.
Training with the different adjustable width settings at various distances will provide valuable feedback on your clubface angle and the quality of your strike at impact. As a result, this practice will help you develop the skill to start the ball accurately on your line, ultimately improving your putting performance on the golf course.
The Adjustable Putting Gate also includes an indoor holder, allowing you to use the gate for indoor putting practice. Each leg securely fits into one of the two supplied bases, enabling the gate to stand alone on any hard surface. Additionally, a tape measure is included so you can place the gate at precise distances, ensuring you practice with known quantities of error. Such diligent practice will provide you with accurate feedback on your ability to start the ball on line.
